Course Objectives
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • will be able to analyze the subtext of a script or libretto by identifying the biographical background of the writer/ composer & the main characters and the historical context
  • will be able to create a visionary contemporary costume design for the main characters by integrating the historical context in which the opera/ play was written & the director´s vision and the stage design
  • will sew one (prototype) costume for one character applying their knowledge of pattern making & their knowlegde of costume history and their knowledge of fabrics and fabric manipulations.
